Welcome to the KMAA
Traditional and Modern
There is a difference between Martial Arts as we traditionally view them, and Fighting Arts that are basically sports, and Defensive Tactics. We offer classes that cover all three of these approaches to martial arts study.

Our movements are a bridge to our desires. The better built the bridge, the more likely we succeed. Old or young, for health or for performance, our mission is to help you fortify your base and infrastructure.

The Kodenkan Martial Arts Academy was founded in 1992. Our mission is to offer the Tucson community quality martial arts instruction. While our instructors may practice different styles, they are united in the belief that the practice of the martial arts improves the fitness, discipline and spirit of its participants. We are proud of our work, and of the students we have trained through the years. Our goal is to perpetuate the teachings of Professor Seishiro H. Okazaki, founder of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. His principles show us that the primary objective of studying martial arts is the perfection of character.
